Stephen Ellsperman
Stephen Ellsperman, a Colorado native and resident, has 28 years of experience spanning natural resource management, ecological systems analysis, restoration design, planning, permitting, and project management. Stephen’s extensive career includes working in diverse environments from private, federal, local, and state arenas. He has led planning, design, and implementation of projects in many iconic landscapes, including dozens of projects on private lands and those administered by the National Park Service, United States Forest Service, and the Bureau of Land Management. Stephen has successfully managed millions of dollars in ecological restoration projects, working across both public and private sectors. He is passionate about the protection and understanding of native ecosystems and strives to harmonize project planning with ecological and engineering principles to produce sustainable, impactful outcomes.
Deeply connected to the land, Stephen raised his family in the Roaring Fork Valley of Colorado, where he lives with his wife, Jennifer, a middle school principal. Their two sons, both recent college graduates working in the natural resource field, were raised with a shared love for the outdoors. In his free time, Stephen can likely be found outside as he has an unquenchable love for the outdoors. Stephen’s passion and drive for his personal pursuits—skiing, mountain biking, fly-fishing, botany, hunting, and running—further fuel his commitment to his profession. Stephen is driven to bring together land stewardship and restoration design, contributing to the vitality of the Western landscape.
