Patrick’s stomping grounds throughout the Iowa-Minnesota-Wisconsin region informed his perspective of the larger landscape picture. Here Patrick honed his design-build skills with over a decade of construction experience to lean upon. With a strong ability to translate a sketch into the build form, he’s able to dive into the inner workings of a complete landscape project.
His ability to connect peoples’ cultural relationship to land at various landscape scales, aids in guiding the outcomes of landscape design. Utilizing education earned at Iowa State University (BA-Landscape Architecture, BS- Environmental Science), Patrick approaches each site with systems-based thinking and critical problem solving.
With each project, Patrick aims to weave principles of practical ecology and sustainability to enhance the built environment. Patrick is deeply interested in aspects of land use across the gradient of rural-agrarian and urban-suburban landscapes, and especially how those uses inform design to benefit water quality.
In spare moments, Patrick enjoys life outdoors and sharing those experiences with his family and friends. You might find him tending to a garden, tinkering under the hood of a car, or improving something that isn’t quite working the way it should. Patrick is a lifelong learner who looks forward to those one on one time to connect and learn your story.
