MSU Lambert Field
project description
The AIA MT award-winning MSU Lambert Field is a multi-use artificial turf field designed to accommodate a diverse array of student activities including rugby, soccer, marching band, lacrosse and more. Intricately designed berms and swaths of low maintenance ornamental grasses buffer traffic and enclose the space while enhancing the spectator/student viewing experience of athletic events.
Field Studio staff were instrumental in crafting the initial design concepts for MSU Lambert Field in collaboration with 45 Architecture, Perkins + Will, and others. Initial design tasks included siting the fields, grading, and balancing cut/fill on site. The major driver behind this design was to enhance the overall user experience while creating a space conducive to improving the health and fitness of the MSU student body.
