Lilian Taft Aizenman

Lilian is a designer at Field Studio with a smile on her face and drive to succeed. Growing up in rural southern Oregon established her strong bond with the landscape, and it simultaneously instilled in her a desire to explore and experience what the world has to offer.

After getting her Bachelor of Mathematics and Physics at Lewis and Clark College, she took time to spread her wings and create new experiences. This led her to studying in the Andes of South America, learning her family history in the kibbutzes of Israel and towns of Bavaria, exploring the rolling hillsides of Ireland, and finally back to the Northwest. Working at a small organic plant nursery in Seattle, Washington sparked her passion for landscape design and sent her back to school to earn her Master of Landscape Architecture degree at Utah State University. Her master’s thesis focused on integrating education into the design of green stormwater infrastructure sites. She is passionate about human interaction with water and the land and is excited to deepen her understanding of this connection during her career as a landscape architect.

Lilian approaches every project and every challenge with enthusiasm and believes that a design which integrates the human touch gracefully into the natural landscape is key in connecting humans with their surroundings. She enjoys designing both large- and small-scale projects and works to continuously maintain superior quality design and high technical standards.

In her free time, Lilian is usually outdoors with her husband, Alex, and dog, Neah Bay.  You’ll find them snowboarding, climbing, hiking, on a bike ride, gardening, camping, on a walk, at the park, or pretty much anything else that gets them outside.  On the occasion you find her inside, she’s most likely baking a loaf of bread, working on her latest quilt, or doing the daily crossword.
