Kevin Banogon

Kevin Banogon is a designer with Field Studio, seeking to elegantly express the concepts of solitude, rest, and inclusivity through his work. He comes from two seemingly divergent worlds, the hands-on and conceptual, with one common focus: human relationship with nature. As a landscape architect, he designs built environments that connect individuals to their surrounding ecosystem. And as a former AmeriCorps crew leader and Wildland Firefighter, his boots-on-the-ground conservationist roots influence his approach to ecologically-focused design.

Since 2014, Kevin has been developing a firsthand knowledge of humanity and nature — how we influence, and are influenced by, the ecosystems in which we live, work, and play. From his years of conservation work, Kevin believes strongly that a spectacular wild environment is critical — yet, nature should not remain solely set apart. The hard-to-reach-peak, the big vacation, and the destination-driven experience, while important, do not fully satisfy our desires for more of the wild woven into our lives. Healthy humanity needs integrated relationships with the natural world. Landscape architecture allows those gifts of nature to bring vitality and wholeness to daily life.

Kevin is analytical, dedicated, and goal-oriented. Inspired by the creativity and energy of Field Studio, his growth as a professional and individual is facilitated by a generous company culture and its ecological ethic. As a designer, his approach is to emphasize the small details that make a space feel unique; implied and physical boundaries, plant massings, and smart overgrowth.

Kevin holds a Master of Landscape Architecture. When not designing, he can be found right next to his wife — hiking or biking one of the gorgeous trails around the Gallatin Valley, road-tripping to a nearby ghost town or other historic sites, skiing in the mountains, or enjoying time at home with his loved one and their cats.
