DESIGNER

Julia McLeod

Born and raised in northern Nevada, Julia spent her childhood playing on the water at Lake Tahoe and in the surrounding Sierra Nevadas. Her upbringing developed and encouraged a reverence for plants, animals, and precious landscapes. It also brought an awareness of the impact of urbanization, and the importance of sensitive human development.

Julia’s love of the outdoors led her to Montana to pursue her academic goals. The concept of sustainable design ignited her passion for design solutions that respect the client and honor the land. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Design from Montana State University School of Architecture.

Julia recognizes the value of green space, natural environments, and habitat enhancement. She sees landscape architecture as an avenue to harmonize human habitation with larger ecosystems for the health and benefit of people and the planet.

Montana has been Julia’s home for over twenty years, the majority of time in Bozeman. When not working Julia loves exploring new places, being near water, hiking and camping, cross country skiing, and snowboarding. She enjoys sharing food and good conversation, and loves laughing, learning, and spending time with her awesome cat, Chuey.
