The Belgrade Community Library has a rich history of moving and expanding to fit community needs. Field Studio, along with a team of collaborators, are proud to be a part of the next expansion, which will include a new two-story building located on Main Street, allowing the library to better serve the Belgrade Community. The overarching design concept is Bridging People and Place – where the timeless design of indoor and outdoor spaces embrace connection to community, culture, history, and the site. Landscape elements are community focused and respond to the architecture and existing site conditions, with inspiration drawn from the Valley of the Flowers, Greater Yellowstone, and Montana. Elements include a plaza on Main Street with ample bike parking, children’s demonstration gardens, outdoor reading areas, events lawn and seamless connection to Lewis and Clark Park.
