Ania LaDow

Ania’s love for the mountains, which stemmed from her upbringing in Evergreen, Colorado, drew her right back to the Rockies upon graduating from Cornell University in 2024. She thanks her childhood, which was filled with skiing, ice-skating, hiking, fishing, and camping, for her innate appreciation for nature. This, in addition to her interest in design, drew her to pursue a degree in landscape architecture, as a way to share her love of the outdoors with more people and ultimately give back to her home landscape one day. Her secondary major in communication aids her to find creative ways to help landscapes share their stories and bridge the connection between people and place.

One of the most meaningful projects Ania completed during her undergraduate studies was a field study and analysis of Kampinos National Park, located just outside of Warsaw, Poland. She examined the intersection between past human history, current human activity, and their effects on physical space, within one of the most highly visited, yet protected, re-naturalizing, and seemingly organic landscapes in the entire country. Beyond the findings from this project, this research trip taught Ania the value in learning from all people and places regardless of distance and fixed perceptions.

Additionally, while at Cornell, Ania served as a starting player and two-year captain for their Division 1 women's squash team. This experience taught her the value of teamwork, recreation, and togetherness in achieving personal and professional success. While there are no squash courts in Bozeman, she’s a fan of all sports and outdoor activities, and looks forward to pursuing everything she’s had to put on hold during her time as a collegiate athlete.
